A Candlelight Service with Chanted Prayer
and Silent Meditation

7-8 pm, Wednesdays
Everyone is invited to a simple supper at 6 pm before every Wednesday service; a free-will offering of $2.50 is appreciated.

Taizé Prayer is for you when you need some time away, when you need a refuge from your hectic world, when you need some silence. We simply sing beautiful chants, a few words sung over and over again to reinforce the meditative quality of the prayer. We then take long stretches of prayerful silence and meditation.

Some people speak their prayers out loud. Some people come forward to a minister or church member and ask for praying on their behalf. This is very private. They anoint you with oil if you so desire, while they ask for God’s blessing on you and your personal prayer request.

Some people come forward to light candles, to sit on the floor, or to lay down or kneel.

You may come whenever you like and leave whenever you are ready. Children are welcome (though free childcare is provided).

We are ecumenical. That is, we come from many religious backgrounds, and although you are welcome to join the church, we also enjoy being a diverse group of people. It enriches all of us.
