Pentecost
Sunday, May 11

Pentecost, Sun., May 11On Pentecost, Sun., May 11, we celebrate how God’s life-giving Spirit poured out abundantly on the community
of disciples gathered in ancient Jerusalem and how that same Spirit is provided to us today. Symbols for this day include images of wind, fire, doves and the color red. Pentecost themes include how God uses our diverse personhood and individual gifts to be “the body of Christ” in the world, bringing hope and peace and new life to all.

The Pentecost Offering will be received that Sunday, which is used to help children at risk, youth, and young adults in our church. The YAYA Committee will designate a local youth service provider or ministry to receive 40% of the funds, while the remaining 60% will be submitted to the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A) for use on the national level. Come celebrate how God’s Spirit still sends us forth in service and love!
