Worship, Music & The Arts
The arts play a central role in the worship
and mission of East Liberty Presbyterian Church (ELPC). To this end, the
Worship, Music & the Arts (WMA) Ministry of ELPC constantly seeks to
provide and support creative pathways to God.
|
WMA oversees all of ELPC’s various Sunday
worship services, as well as other special services and holiday services
throughout the year, providing relevant music, song and scripture for
each service:
- Sunday services: Good Samaritan,
Morning Glory, Sanctuary Worship
- Summer Worship
- Lent, Palm Sunday, Holy Week, Easter,
Pentecost, Advent, Christmas, New Year’s Eve
- Holy Ground Service of Wholeness and
Healing
WMA seeks to enhance the worship
experience through a variety of artistic and musical offerings:
- Chancel Choir, Morning Glory
Singers, Joyful Noise Children’s Choir
- Hand Bell Ringers, ELPC Instrumental
Ensemble
- Guest speakers and artistic
performers
WMA plans, organizes and provides
guest speakers and artistic performers for many of ELPC special
events and fundraisers throughout the year including:
|
|
- concerts during the
liturgical seasons of Lent, Pentecost, Advent and Christmas
- musical events to help
support mission projects
- Mardi Gras
- ELPC’s pipe organ
restoration project
WMA is the caretaker for ELPC’s
musical instruments, artwork and service artifacts.
WMA together with the Deacons and
the Membership & Growth Committee are responsible for training
of the Acolytes and Crucifers who are part of our services, as
well as Greeters and Ushers who help welcome all worshipers.
