Vacation Church School

Vacation Church School or VCS (sometimes called Vacation Bible School) at ELPC is usually a week-long program in the summer. It’s an opportunity for children ages 3-1/2 (potty-trained) through fifth grade to share worship, stories, discussion, activities, and meals.

VCS 2011: June 27 to July 1, 9am to 3pm

This year’s theme was “Taste and See: God is Good,” the Mennonite Publishing House Curriculum. Taste and SeeWe’ll explore Biblical stories in which God uses food to extend promises to God’s people. Kids will learn about gratitude, generosity, and “spiritual food”--and how food is a constant reminder of God’s active presence in our midst! The program ran from Monday, June 27 through Friday, July 1, 9 am to 3 pm daily.

VCS Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are always welcome to serve as teachers and helpers; and also in the craft, recreation, snack, and special events areas. Whether you can help for three hours or for the whole week, your gift of time is welcome! All adult volunteers must have their Act 33/34 Clearances (ELPC will gladly pay for your clearances) and will receive training on our Child Safety Policy.

Youth in grades 6–12 also are invited to serve! Youth volunteers are required to attend training usually held in early June.

One More Way to Help

If you would like to help, but are unable to volunteer, there is one more way you can help! We will usually post a donation bulletin board located outside the East Transept of the sanctuary on the Sundays preceding VCS. Take a tag that lists a supply or snack and return the items by the appointed date.
