Presbyterian Women
Presbyterian Women is open to all women in our denomination. PW is organized at all levels of the denomination—in congregations, presbyteries and synods as well as in the General Assembly. This allows ideas and information to strengthen the work of PW and the ministry of the PC (USA). All women at ELPC are invited to participate in any of our PW activities, including bible study, lectures, conferences, and more. View the list of upcoming events below. If you'd like to learn more about PW, please contact Mary Alice Lightle for more information, (412) 682-1504.
PW Bible Study: Confessing the Beatitudes
The Beatitudes are some of the most beloved, and pointed, teachings of Jesus. Our Bible study will consider the Beatitudes as they might have been heard when Jesus spoke them, during the cruel and brutal regime of the Roman Empire. No prior experience or reading is required and bibles are available.
The PW Bible Study group meets on the first Tuesday of the month from September 2011 through May 2012 (including November). We begin at 10:00 am, in the second floor parlor. (Attendance at every session is not required.) A potluck lunch follows; please bring a salad or snack to share. Beverages are provided. Call Mary Alice Lightle for more information, (412) 682-1504.

Wednesday to Sunday, July 18-22 | PW Churchwide Gathering in Florida
Plan to join your PW friends and attend the PW Churchwide Gathering July 1822, 2012, at the Gaylord Palms Resort, in Orlando, Florida. The theme is “River of Hope,” based on Psalm 46:45, and focuses on the two themes of water and hope. Both are necessary to sustain life but both are in increasingly short supply. This gathering will be an opportunity to find hope in our faith, celebrating Jesus (our living water) and the ways the Spirit flows through us. It promises to be a gathering you will not want to miss. Online registration will begin in December. More details will be available closer to the time.
