Hundreds of people living in Pittsburgh’s East End communities don’t know where their next meal is coming from. East End Cooperative Ministries reaches out to all those who are experiencing the pain and the desperation of hunger — from infants and children to a growing number of seniors.

The Food Pantry is one of East End Cooperative Ministries’ assistance programs for those in immediate need of food. Right now, they are in desperate need of donations, but most especially they need the following food donations: peanut butter, canned fruit and tuna. An abundance of these basic staples can probably be found in your own kitchen pantry. Please help if you can by leaving your food donations in the baskets located throughout the church’s hallways.

Food Pantry Services

The Food Pantry is housed at East Liberty Presbyterian Church and is open from 1 to 3 pm, Monday through Friday. In addition to providing emergency groceries and supplies, volunteers provide help with budgeting, information on assistance programs, and access to social service agencies and other appropriate programs. Clergy are available at the Food Pantry to offer spiritual support.
