Childcare

Childcare is available for many of our church services and activities. We have a great space for young children with lots of toys and books, and plenty of room to run around! If you have any questions as to whether childcare will be offered for an ELPC meeting or function, please contact Gloria Knopp, (412) 441-3800 x22

  • Sundays, infants to age 3: Childcare is available for infants through age 3 in the nursery, from 8:30 am to 12:15 pm, allowing parents and siblings to attend the Journey service, Sunday school classes, and the 11:00 Sanctuary service (or the 10:00 worship service during the summer). A snack is usually offered to children sometime between 11:15 and 12:00.
  • Sundays, children over 3: Children over age 3 are encouraged to attend their own Sunday school classes and extended session classes; view the Christian Education page for details. Note that this program requires an enrollment form. Please click to download the PDF; fill it in and return, or you can fill it out whe you come in.
  • Wednesdays: Childcare is available in the nursery from 6:30 - 8:15 for those who are attending the Taizé service in the chapel.

Childcare may be available by request for other special church events during the year. If you would like to attend one of our special events and you’re not sure whether childcare will be offered, please contact Gloria Knopp, (412) 441-3800 x22.

All childcare providers have passed background checks, including criminal and child abuse checks. If you have any questions regarding ELPC’s policies, see the article “Keeping our Kids Safe” on page 4 of the Fall 2012 Rally Day newsletter, or contact The Rev. Heather Schoenewolf, (412) 441-3800 x21 with any additional questions.

ELPC does not offer a full-time childcare or daycare program.
