Visitor’s Sunday, October 25
The 11:00 Sanctuary worship on the 25th will highlight aspects of all our regular services, so that church friends and family can better appreciate the range of worship opportunities available at ELPC. This is an excellent time to invite a neighbor or friend! A special dessert reception follows in the Social Hall.

- Contemporaries: "My appreciation for ELPC" Insights and discussions by Tim Englehardt on the discovery of a suitable church home for one’s family.
- Journey with Scripture: Job 42:1-6, 10-17; Ps 34:1-8, 19-20, Heb 7:23-28, Mk 10:46-52.
- Parenting Circle: Second session of, “Unplug the Christmas Machine,” led by guest facilitator Sue Schneider. All are welcome—these sessions are not parenting-specific.
- Seekers: Second session of, “The Bible Concept of Jubilee”—a theme of social justice that can be traced throughout the Old Testament to the ministry of Jesus. We will explore the jubilee texts of scripture and their applications to our lives today.
Additional worship, classes, and prayer opportunities during the week
- Taizé prayer service: Every Wednesday, 7:00 pm in the Chapel. Childcare available from 6:45 pm to 8:15 pm. October 21 Taizé service followed by Hebrew chanting, led by composer and chant leader David Goldstein.
- Labyrinth Prayer Walk: Mondays, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm, and Wednesdays, 10:00 am - 9:00 pm.
- Centering Prayer: Tuesdays, 7:00 pm, room 250.
- Wednesday Connections for Adults: Join us Wednesdays from 5:00 - 5:45 for Bible study with the Revs. Bush and Schoenewolf.
Youth and young adults
- Wednesday Connections: Our Wednesday Connection program starts at 3:30 and includes free Hope Academy classes, snacks from Whole Foods, homework help, a simple supper for families in the McKelvey Room, and more. View the webpage for the complete schedule.

Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra comes to ELPC
The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra is returning to East Liberty Presbyterian Church for its third annual Community Engagement Concert, on Saturday, November 14th at 7:00 p.m. PSO resident conductor Lawrence Loh will conduct the PSO’s string orchestra. The PSO’s own Scott Bell and Jeremy Black will perform a duet for oboe and violin by Bach; the concert will also feature music by Mozart and Grieg. A pre-concert student performance will take place from 6:00-6:45, and a post-concert student performance will take place from 8:30-9:00 (ELPC Social Hall). All ticket proceeds from the concert will stay in the East Liberty area community, benefiting local instrumental music programs. Tickets for adults are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Tickets are $5 for seniors aged 60+ and students 18 and under. Tickets are available for purchase at East Liberty Presbyterian Church and Vintage Senior Center, or by phone at (412) 361-5662. Oktoberfest on Saturday October 24

ELPC in the Community
EECM Houses of Worship Architectural Tour
East End Cooperative Ministry will host the 6th annual Houses of Worship Architectural Tour on Sunday, Nov 1 from 2 to 4:30 pm. Enjoy docent-led tours of the participating congregations (Church of the Redeemer, Sixth Presbyterian Church, Temple Sinai) and raise funds to support EECM’s programs. Tickets are $20, plus a bag of non-perishable groceries for EECM's Food Pantry. Tour price includes docent-led tours of each congregation highlighting its history, art, and architecture, and a light reception at Church of the Redeemer. Pancake breakfast November 7, benefits EECM, needs volunteers
Every year the Pittsburgh East Rotary Club sponsors a Pancake Breakfast benefiting charities in the East End including EECM. The breakfast will be held Saturday, November 7th at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 8am - 12pm. We need help with set-up, guest assistance, serving, clean-up and more. Please volunteer!
